A journey to Kanchenjunga trekking area is a special treat- starting from the tropical lowlands through great rhododendron forests and lovely villages of eastern north Nepal up to the glacier and overwhelming views. This trekking lead to base camp of third highest peak of the world Mount Kanchenjunga which is least known among all great peaks. Exotic name such as Wedge peak, Pyramid peak, Janu Himal, White Wave, the Twins and, of course, Mount Kanchenjunga (8586 meters) provide the inspiration to make the challenging trek to base camp. Our approach takes us up through terraced hillsides of the remoter ethnic group of Rai and Limbu and then among well preserved forest of rhododendron, birch oak and spruce.
The trek offers you the nature in its pure form, where besides the Mount Kanchenjunga 8586 m. /28170 ft., you get to see various other fascinating mountain peaks; Mount Yalung Kang (8505m), Dromo Peak (6100m), Yalung Ri (5200m) etc. Rich flora and fauna, and the stunningly beautiful scenarios. This region is inhabited by the friendliest people of Nepal, such as Rai and Limbu, Chhetris and Brahmins whose cultural treasures and rituals always thrill the visitors. In spite of the difference in traditions and rituals, you get to see them living in peace and harmony with other ethnic groups.
Kanchenjunga Conservation Area spread in an area of 2035 square Kilometers and KCAP area has a rich diversity of wildlife including snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer red panda and others. Pheasant, red-billed blue magpie, shy-drongo are the major birds found in Kanchenjunga trekking route. Kanchenjunga trek to the south and north faces of the world's third highest mountain offers fantastic Himalayan views, including Everest. Kanchenjunga base camp trekking provides you with an adventure trekking in eastern part of Nepal Himalaya.
We fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and transfer to Basantapur on the same day. The trek follows the beautiful rhododendron forest with our first camp at Chauki then trek through Gyabla, and ascend to the higher camp at Pang Pema (5120m) and camp at Lhonak. The trek concludes at Suketar via the descent from Omje Khola, from where we fly back to Kathmandu. However the easiest and quickest possibility to reach the starting point Taplejung (Suketar) accessible by air, to capture the scenic beauty of reserved forest where almost 24 different varieties of Rhododendron flowers are found in 'Milke Danda'.
Mount Kanchenjunga sits astride the Nepal/Sikkim border only a few miles from Tibet. You are not allowed to complete the circuit trek except for its Northern and Southern elevation. Few high passes are encountered while trailing to both the elevation in one go however during favorable weather conditions, it is quite accessible, or else, an additional of few days will be required to complete the trek via a moderate route. This route was opened to the trekkers in 1988, though people have trekked in the area in connection with mountaineering expedition since the turn of the century. The region is still restricted to organised expedition group only, special permit needed.

We will finalize paperwork-permit for your trip. Final checking of your climbing equipments. A half day sightseeing tours of Kathmandu including Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath.
Fly to Biratnagar for 45 minutes and either drive to Dharan or transfer to hotel.
Drive to Basantapur via zig-zag road to Bhedetar charls view point and through Dhankuta.
Begin your trek to Chauki (2819m) - 5½ hours.
Chauki - Gupha Pokhari (2985m) - 4 hours.
Guphapokhari trek to Dobhan 1567m.
Dobhan -trek to Chhirwa 1190m.
Chhirwa- trek to Sekathum 1640m.
Sekathum - trek to Amjilhasa 2490m.
Amjilhasa -trek to Gyapla /Kyapra 2730m.
Gyapla /Kyapra- trek to Gunsa village 3430m.
Acclimatization or rest day in Gunsa village (3430m). During this day you can hike up to the Selele pass base camp.
Gunsa- trek to Kambachen 4040m.
Kambachen- trek to Lhonak 4790m.
Lhonak - trek to Pangpema 5140m. (Northern Base Camp)
Pangpema - trek to Lhonak 4790m.
Lhonak- trek to Gunsa 3430m.
Gunsa- trek to Sinion/ Selele Phedi 3546m.
Sinion /Selele Phedi via Selele pass 4854m trek to Tseram 3870m
Tseram trek to Kanchenjunga Oktang Base camp back to Ramche 4620m
Ramche - trek to Torontan 3256m.
Torontan - Trek to Amje Khola 2340m
Amje Khola - Trek to Mamankhe 1810m
Mamankhe - trek to Kande Bhanjyang 2134m.
Kande Bhanjyang - trek Lali Kharka 2213m.
Lali Kharka - Trek to Suketar (2420 meters)
Traversing in an out of minor valleys, we pass thru a succession of picturesque villages on our way to Suketar, reaching around late afternoon.
Fly back to Kathmandu.
Enjoying your last glimpse of the mountains you have recently visited one last time on the 35 minute Scenic flight back to Kathmandu from Suketar (Taplejung).

Transfer for your final flight departure. The trip ends, our Airport Representative will drop you to the Kathmandu International Airport for your flight departure frm Nepal.
