Kathmandu Tour with Nagarkot - 4 days
Kathmandu and Cool trip to Nagarkot Fort 2150 meters

Kathmandu city still manages to charm every visitor with its magnificent temples, gigantic renaissance structures and with traces of a glorious past. We will embark upon this trip from Kathmandu and then move towards the ancient city of Bhaktapur and then onwards, towards the beautiful and serene Nagarkot (altitude 2150 meters). We will then move to the east towards Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is an ancient town and the name literally means "city of devotees". The city has a beautiful durbar Square with myriad temples dedicated to the Hindu Gods and what were once palaces now stand as museums. There is the beautiful Nyatapola temple and exquisite newari architecture can be seen in the form of the Pujari math and the Duttratraya temple.

Nagarkot is known for the glorious views that it offers of the Himalayas. It has also served as a locale for the film makers of Bollywood and has seen many celebrity visitors who have found the place enchanting. When the sun reflects on these snowy peaks the view becomes absolutely spell binding , we would back to hotel for breakfast and then we ahead to Patan, which is a real treat for any curious visitor. It has temples, palaces, ancient houses, centuries old alleyways and great newari cuisine serving restaurants. It is believed that the city was built after the Buddhist Dharma Chakra (the wheel of righteousness). There are four Stupas around Patan which was built about by the Indian emperor Ashoka. We will visit Durbar Square incluing Krishna Temple, Golden temple statues of bronze and more. We would end our magnificent trip to Kathmandu after we visit it all.

Day 01 - Arrive Kathmandu-afternoon visit of Swayambhunath and Durbar Square

Day 01 - Arrive Kathmandu-afternoon visit of Swayambhunath and Durbar Square

On your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be received by representative of Independent Himalayan Adventure and transferred to your Hotel. We will then have a small briefing about the entire trip. You will be given a lot of practical information about how to utilize your time perfectly in Nepal and also about what to expect and what not to.

While you are in Kathmandu you will be able to see all its charm in full glory. Kathmandu is a beautiful city with an exciting harmony of the old and the new. This city has a wonderful history that take us back to almost 2500 years.

In the afternoon we will take a guided tour of the Swayambhunath Stupa, held holy by both the Hindus and Buddhists equally. The sightseeing will continue till the evening. You will also be able to visit the famous Kathmandu's Kastamandap Durbar Square which was the hub for hippies in the early 70s. Today there is a wonderful museum that might amuse you.

Day 02 - Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Bhaktapur and Nagarkot

In the morning we will set out for the Pashupatinath Temple, the guardian deity of the Kathmandu Valley and one of the most revered temples of Hindus all over the world. This temple is located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Here you will have a chance to see the last rites of the Hindus.
We will then move towards the Boudhanath Stupa. This is a site revered by the Buddhists and the surrounding areas are inhabited by most of Buddhist and Tibetan refugees. There are a lot of Buddhist art and craft items for sale at the surrounding areas.

We will then move to the east towards Bhaktapur, an ancient town and the name literally means "city of devotees". The city has a beautiful Durbar Square with myriad temples dedicated to the Hindu Gods and what were once palaces now stand as museums. There is the beautiful Nyatapola temple and exquisite newari architecture can be seen in the form of the Pujari math and the Duttratraya temple.

We will head towards Nagarkot in the afternoon. The road starts ascending and winds as it follows pine forests and farmlands and villages. Once we reach Nagarkot you will be taken to your hotel.

Day 03 - Nagarkot Sunrise, Patan Durbar Square back to Kathmandu.

The view of the sunrise from Nagarkot is nothing less than splendid. The Annapurna range can be vividly seen here expanding at a stretch of about 270 degrees. When the sun reflects on these snowy peaks the view becomes absolutely spell binding.

After breakfast, we will move towards Patan, neighbour old city of Kathmandu.
Patan is a real treat for any curious visitor. It has temples, palaces, ancient houses, centuries old alleyways and great newari cuisine serving restaurants. It is believed that the city was built after the Buddhist Dharma Chakra (the wheel of righteousness). There are four Stupas around Patan which was built about by the Indian emperor Ashoka.
We will visit Durbar Square which houses the Krishna Temple, Golden temple statues of bronze.

We will return towards Kathmandu and head for Thamel which is the tourist hub in Kathmandu.You can enjoy your last evening in Thamel with several Restaurants, Touristic items shoppings and back to your Hotel.

Day 04 - Departure from Kathmandu.

If you did not finished your shopping previously, you can do some moring shopping.
You will then transferred to the International airport with Independent Himalayan Adventure's representative for for onward journey.
